The Washington Wizards' game at Charlotte represented another homecoming for members of the team and coaching staff.
For coach Ed Tapscott, it was his second game coaching in the building that he helped design as Bobcats chief operating officer in 2004. And for Wizards players Antawn Jamison, Darius Songaila and Brendan Haywood, it was a return to the state where they played college ball - Jamison and Haywood at North Carolina and Songaila at Wake Forest.
"I hate playing at home," joked Jamison, who also grew up in Charlotte. "[Tuesday] I had 10 ticket requests, now I'm up to 28."
The number possibly could have been higher had North Carolina not been playing Duke on the same night.
The Bobcats typically draw sparse crowds, but the arena was emptier than normal last night, according to local reporters.
