Charlotte Bobcats Getting Inside 2009-12-12

Charlotte Bobcats Getting Inside 2009-12-12Tyson Chandler's foul troubles are becoming contagious. It was pretty much the norm Friday in San Antonio, when Chandler picked up two fouls midway through the first quarter. Then Gerald Wallace and Boris Diaw got the same treatment, and it was all downhill from there.

With all three frontcourt starters in foul trouble, it wasn't much of a surprise the Spurs shot 61 percent in the first half and led by as much as 22. It showed how dramatically the Bobcats' solid defense erodes when the shallow frontcourt has to sit.

Until center Chandler figures out how to guard without fouling, and until the Bobcats acquire a backup power forward, this will be an ongoing problem.

"It's tough. For the last three years I've played the exact same way without having these troubles," Chandler said. "I'm not really understanding what I'm seeing out there."

SPURS 104, BOBCATS 85: This was just the fourth time this season the Bobcats gave up 100 or more points, and that was about fourth-quarter exhaustion. They made up all but a point of a 22-point halftime deficit in the third quarter, then shot 6-of-21 in the final period.
