Charlotte Bobcats Getting Inside 2009-12-06

Charlotte Bobcats Getting Inside 2009-12-06Bobcats point guard D.J. Augustin is becoming a case-study in tough love. For the second straight game, he was "Did Not Play-Coach's Decision," something he'd never experienced before Friday's game in New Jersey.

Coach Larry Brown said he's no longer willing to play three point guards just to keep all three happy. And given a choice between Augustin and Flip Murray as Raymond Felton's backup, Brown has chosen Murray, at least for now.

"Play better -- simple as that," Brown said, when asked what will get Augustin back on the court.

"I talk to him; I ask him if I'm different than I was last year (or) if we're asking him to do anything differently than we have in the past. He says no," Brown continued.

"He hasn't defended like he needs to defend, he hasn't made shots, he hasn't distributed the ball. Those are all things he's capable of doing. He's just got to do them. And I have a pretty good alternative in Flip."

BOBCATS 106, 76ERS 105: Larry Brown trusted Raymond Felton to create something in the final seconds without calling a timeout to set a play. Felton got all the way to the rim, tossing in a layup over Sixers center Samuel Dalembert for the winning points.
