It's clear to Gerald Wallace that his name is being volleyed around in trade talks. That wasn't a problem for him in the offseason, but it's distracting now that the regular season has started.
"I'm trying to adjust because all this is is a lot of distraction," Wallace told the Charlotte Observer. He says he doesn't know what to believe -- there's a widespread rumor of a potential three-way deal that could send him to Golden State -- but he's determined not to let it hurt his performance.
"As long as I'm here, I'm going to do whatever I can to help our team win," Wallace told the Observer. "If it goes down, then it goes down. I'll just have to adjust. But right now my main thing is getting us on the right track."
It's clear the Bobcats need more help inside, and the logical commodity would be one of the wing players. The Bobcats are loaded -- probably overloaded -- at small forward and shooting guard.
There also seems a possibility the Bobcats would consider trading point guard Raymond Felton, who becomes a restricted free agent after this season.
BOBCATS 92, HORNETS 89: The Bobcats excelled at all the things they normally screw up. They played great team defense (holding the Hornets to seven second-quarter points), they converted 17 New Orleans turnovers into 30 points and they made 29 of 31 free throws to beat a team contending for the NBA championship.
