Dec. 8--The Charlotte Bobcats will be without forward Gerald Wallace for tonight's game against the Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena.
Due to a death in the family, Wallace did not join the team for its trip to South Florida, the Bobcats said. His return date is pending funeral arrangements.
Wallace has appeared in each of the Bobcats' 20 games, averaging 15.3 points and 7.6 rebounds. He leads Charlotte in minutes played and scored 34 points on 11-of-16 shooting in a 100-87 victory over the Heat on Nov. 1 in Charlotte.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said forward Michael Beasley, who was poked in the eye during Saturday's victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder, and guard Chris Quinn, who missed that game due to a sprained left ankle, both would be available against the Bobcats.
The Heat has won three in a row for the first time since April 2007. It has not won four in a row since a nine-game winning streak from Feb. 28 to March 16, 2007.
