
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The Charlotte Bobcats sent rookies Alexis Ajinca and Sean Singletary to Sioux Falls of the NBA Development League on Monday, and agreed to sign guard Dontell Jefferson to a 10-day contract.
Jefferson was averaging 18.6 points and 5.5 assists for Utah in the development league will become the Bobcats' NBA-high 24th player to suit up this season. General manager Rod Higgins said the 6-foot-4 Jefferson will sign on Wednesday and take the team's open roster spot.Neither Ajinca or Singletary had been getting much playing time with coach Larry Brown tightening his rotation as the Bobcats make a playoff push. The pair did not travel with the Bobcats on Monday when they left for Tuesday's game at San Antonio.
Ajinca and Singletary will play for Sioux Falls on Friday at Reno.
The 7-foot Ajinca was a first-round pick of Charlotte. The Frenchman has appeared in just two games since Feb. 11.
Singletary was acquired from Phoenix in the trade that also brought starters Boris Diaw and Raja Bell to Charlotte. The point guard hasn't played since Feb. 11.
